Mr. Rowland is a co-founding member of American Timberlands Company, LLC and its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Rowland began his professional career with Georgia-Pacific Corporation as a Procurement Forester and rose through the ranks of management with increasing levels of responsibility at various procurement and land management offices in the Southeastern US. Subsequently, Mr. Rowland became a partner and President of Claybourn Walters Company ("CWC"), a major privately-held land management and forest products brokerage/harvesting firm in North Carolina which provided services to a clientele consisting of Georgia-Pacific, International Paper, Weyerhaeuser, Milliken, Plum Creek, Wachovia Timberlands, and other major forest product businesses. In conjunction with his role at CWC, Mr. Rowland founded Palmetto Land Investment Company to identify, originate, facilitate funding, and manage land investments in the forefront of the publicly-held, forest product company land divestitures taking place during that time. After the successful disposition of his ownership interest in CWC, Mr. Rowland continued to manage Palmetto Land Investment Company, transforming its primary business into land acquisition/disposition and predevelopment land services with a primary clientele of large successful real estate development companies and other land investment entities. Prior to merging Palmetto Land Investment Co. into American Timberlands Company in 2004, Palmetto Land Investment Co. was involved in the origination and successful disposition of numerous land investments in the Southeastern US.

In 2004, Mr. Rowland, along with P. Douglas McMillan and Dan H. Stuckey, organized American Timberlands Company, LLC ("ATC") and continues to serve as it Chief Executive Officer. In his role as CEO, Mr. Rowland provides daily leadership and management to all aspects of the company. By virtue of his diverse career experiences, Mr. Rowland has the unique ability to identify and develop land investments containing multiple value components that generate superior returns. His extensive experience with forest product brokerage, harvesting, and procurement; land acquisition/sales; aggregate/minerals mining; conservation and recreational land use; real estate predevelopment; and overall business administration coupled with a broad knowledge of eastern US forestland ownerships; underlies his success.

Mr. Rowland holds both B.S. and M.F. degrees in Forest Resource Management from Clemson University, one of the premier programs of its type in the United States. Mr. Rowland maintains strong ties with Clemson, and has served on the Board of Visitors of Clemson University, and also on the Board of Visitors of the Medical University of South Carolina. He has served on the board of directors of the North Carolina Forestry Association and held other positions within industry associations. Mr. Rowland is the founder of Loamy, LLC the largest concrete sand and gravel mining and processing operation in SC.
